Instructions

| Bake the sakura buns | LumiBake S1 Pro 18L | Bake | 180°C | 18 min |
01Combine the bread flour, milk, sugar, yeast and a small amount of pink food colouring. Mix and knead until a smooth, evenly coloured pink dough forms.
02Shape the dough into a ball, place it in a clean bowl and cover. Leave it to rise for about 1 hour, or until noticeably expanded and soft.
03While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. Combine the cream cheese, icing sugar and whipping cream until smooth and creamy, then fold in the candied orange peel until evenly distributed.
04After the dough has risen, gently press out the excess air and divide it into evenly sized portions. Shape each portion into a smooth ball and flatten it into a small round.
05Pipe or spoon the cream cheese filling into the centre of each piece of dough. Bring the edges together around the filling and pinch firmly to seal, keeping the filling completely enclosed.
06Place each filled bun seam-side down and gently flatten it. Make evenly spaced cuts around the outside edge to form petals, then shape the sections into a sakura-style flower. Arrange the finished buns on a lined baking tray.
07Place the tray in the LumiBake S1 Pro 18L and Bake at 180°C for 18 minutes, until the buns are cooked through and lightly coloured. Remove carefully and allow them to cool slightly before serving.
